Sexual Dependency

Summary: There is much controversy in the literature about what constitutes excessive or aberrant sexual behaviour and the extent to which the behaviour can be considered psychopathology. After examine a case of "strange" behaviour, referred to the CL psychiatric service, the authors believe that much more debate will be crucial. Sexual addiction is defined as any sexually-related compulsive behaviour, which interferes with normal living and causes severe stress, disturbances in one's work, family and social environment. Sexual addition has been called sexual dependency and sexual compulsivity. This concept includes compulsive behaviours that completely dominates the addict's life. Sexual addicts make sex a priority more important than family, friends, and work. Sex fantasies and some sexual behaviours take control, becomes unmanageable and the organizing principle of dependent's lives, this include: compulsive masturbation, compulsive heterosexual and homosexual relation, child molesting, incest, rape, and sexual violence..

Sexuality and the function of  Family Doctor

He emphasises the importance, in Primary Care, of the permissive/pedagogic/informative r6le of those technicians. Sexual Rehabilitation of Radical Prostatectomia

Summary: The bio psychosocial and sexual conditions associated with prostate cancer, make this a unique clinical situation as it refers to sexual rehabilitation. In this perspective, an intervention protocol with sexual and psychological therapies (model PLISSIT) was applied before, during and after surgical procedures with the objective of sexual rehabilitation. The results obtained, suggest that complete information and analysis at the psychosocial and sexual level (as a first phase of psychotherapeutic intervention) integrated in the procedures of the medical team, offers the most adequate support and prognostic methods of sexual impairments after radical prostatectomy.

Oral Therapeuty of Erectil Dysfunction

Summary: The currently available oral treatments for erectile dysfunction and the known relevant basic science were reviewed. Sildenafil citrate is now considered as first-line treatment for those patients with only a few exceptions. Apomorphine, a dopaminergic agent, represent a new class of centrally acting oral drugs well tolerated and a useful option for treating erectile dysfunction. There is an increasing interest in the development of new oral agents that can bring in the near future the ideal therapy - rapidly acting, effective and safe. And it would also be helpful if the medication was inexpensive.

Sexualities in the Adolescence: CL Experience on a investigation Development Project in Centro de Saúde

Summary: Our work was included in a study about Psycologic, Social and Health Aspects of Portuguese Adolescents. Our results was retired of the Adolescent Council of Centro de Saúde de Loures. They show that these adolescents was conscious of their sexuality. All have a stable relationship. The majority used contraceptives at a friend's suggestion. All have a good integration and family support.
