We have the experience of the European Consultation/Liaison Workgroup for General Hospital Psychiatry and Psychosomatics. 90% of our 200 associates are Psychiatrists, but child Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses and Social Workers are welcome as well, as long as they are involved in C/L activities. We are deeply involved in Consultation/Liaison activities, either in Primary care on in General Hospital Psychiatry. Continuous Consultation/Liaison Education is available by means of workshops. All C/L activities, consultations, are registered using a nation-wide form (Protocolo) which is then referred to a nation-wide database, by the end of 1997 we shall have a thousand protocols inserted. We use and develop, also, the translation to the Portuguese language, of the bedside program of C/L activities Micro-Cares from Mount Sinai Hospital, NY (Prof. J.J. Strain). We are organised in the form of Commissions (codification, research, information) and Workgroups (Cardiology, Depression, Epilepsy, Psycho-oncology, AIDS, Suicide, Obstetrics/ Gynaecology, Psychogeriatrics and Dietetics). |
